Locarno Int’l Film Festival to screen Iranian short

Iranian short film 'Gaze' is to vie at the Locarno Int’l Film Festival in Switzerland.

The 70th edition of the Locarno International Film Festival has been scheduled to screen Iranian short film ‘Gaze’ directed by Farnoosh Samadi in Switzerland.

The Iranian short will go on screen at the competition section of the Swiss event.

The movie is about a woman who gets informed that something is happening on the bus on the way back home. She must make a moral decision to expose the story, or not.

‘Gaze’ is Samadi’s second short film as a director. She has also written a number of short films, including ‘The Pain’, The Kid’ and ‘More Than Two Hours’.

‘The Silence’, has grabbed much attention and positive reviews in several international film events.

Marzieh Vafamehr, Amir-Reza Ranjbaran, Pedram Ansari, Safoura Kazempour, Mehrdad Mohammadi, Kiana Asadi and Babak Karimi are among the film cast.

Launched in 1946, the Locarno Film Festival is an international event held in the city of Locarno, Switzerland, in August every year.

One of the most interesting features of the festival is its open-air screening area at the Piazza Grande with a space for more than 8,000 spectators, having one of the largest open-air screens in the world.

The top prize of the Festival is the Golden Leopard awarded to the best film in the international competition.
